An estimate, not a salary slip. It uses the rates above for the first month at the start of the scale, with DA at 27.83% as applicable from 1 August 2026. Your bank pays as per its own rules, so the actual amount can differ. Take-home pay is lower after pension (NPS) contribution, income tax and other deductions (such as professional tax where it applies). They are not included here because none of these sources gives their rates.
Formula: Gross monthly pay (before deductions) = Basic + Special Allowance + Learning Allowance + DA + HRA (+ CCA or Location Allowance), where Special Allowance = 26.5% of Basic, DA = 27.83% of (Basic + Special Allowance + Learning Allowance) and HRA = 10%, 9% or 8% of Basic by area.
| Component | How it is worked out | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Basic pay (start of the scale) | IBPS notification | ₹48,480 |
| Special Allowance | 26.5% × ₹48,480 | ₹12,847 |
| Learning Allowance | fixed | ₹850 |
| Dearness Allowance | 27.83% × (₹48,480 + ₹12,847 + ₹850) | ₹17,304 |
| Subtotal before HRA and CCA | sum of the rows above | ₹79,481 |
| HRA area | HRA | HRA amount | Gross monthly pay (before deductions) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Major “A” class cities and Project Area Centres in Group A | 10% | ₹4,848 | ₹84,329 |
| Other places in Area I, Project Area Centres in Group B and the State of Goa | 9% | ₹4,363 | ₹83,844 |
| Other places | 8% | ₹3,878 | ₹83,360 |
Add ₹2,300 or ₹1,900 City Compensatory Allowance where it applies, or ₹1,200 Location Allowance at centres without CCA. HRA and CCA areas are defined separately, so they are not combined here.
Amounts rounded to the nearest rupee. DA changes every quarter (1 February, 1 May, 1 August, 1 November); the rate here is for August, September and October 2026.

₹48,480, the first stage of the Scale I pay scale in the CRP SPL-XVI notification (the same as Officer Scale I in the IBA 9th Joint Note). It rises to ₹85,920 after 16 annual increments.
Our estimate for the first month is about ₹83,360 to ₹84,329 depending on the HRA area, plus City Compensatory or Location Allowance where it applies, with DA at 27.83% (from 1 August 2026). Take-home pay is lower after pension (NPS) contribution, income tax and other deductions, which are not included. Each bank pays as per its own rules.
No. Both join in Officer Scale I with the same basic pay scale and the same IBA allowances, so the estimate is the same. Each bank may add its own allowances and perquisites.
Every quarter, on 1 February, 1 May, 1 August and 1 November, based on the consumer price index. IBA announces each rate in a circular; the current one is 27.83% for August, September and October 2026.
A Special Allowance of 26.5% of basic pay (Scale I) and a Learning Allowance of ₹850, both with DA on them, HRA of 10%, 9% or 8% of pay by area, and City Compensatory Allowance (₹2,300 or ₹1,900) or a ₹1,200 Location Allowance, depending on the centre.
